Thank You: 30th Annual Beth Haven Holiday Classic was another… “Classic”!

First, we want to express our appreciation to the teams and fans that chose to participate and attend our 30th Annual James A. Hall Holiday Classic this season. We were truly blessed by your spirit and competition.

We also appreciate all those that contributed their time and efforts to help make the event a success, just as it has been in years past.

We also want to express our gratitude to those sponsors that advertised in our basketball program and express a special word of thanks to Scott Hall, for his support of the Holiday Classic in honor of his father, James. A Hall.

Saturday’s boys action began Saturday with a 5/6th place game in which Portland Christian defeated Heritage Academy 67-57.

Bath County outlasted Beth Haven in a hard-fought, double-overtime thriller to earn 3rd place in the tournament. It was the second overtime game of this year’s Classic. Bearcat’s Coach Stinnett had this to say about his team’s effort and outlook:

“I was happy with the team during the Holiday Classic. I thought we played our best game of the year vs Bath County. We are starting to add some depth off the bench and this is going to help us in a big way”.

The championship game between the two undefeated schools from Louisville, Brown and Collegiate, provided another thrilling and entertaining down-to-the-wire finish.

After trailing most of the game, Brown took and held a 50-49 lead with just under a minute to play until Collegiate’s Bryce Overstreet hit the game-winning jumper with 3.2 seconds on the clock for a 51-50 victory.

Congratulations to the Louisville Collegiate Titans on their championship and to Titan’s forward Bryce Overstreet, on being named the Holiday Classic MVP. Also, congratulations to Brown for their runner-up finish and competitive run through the tournament.

Again, a big thank you to everyone that played, coached and worked hard during this year’s Holiday Classic. It was a blessing and a classic!
