Overview: Beth Haven Christian School is looking for a full-time Bible teacher. The certified/qualified individual must be an Evangelical Christian committed to living a biblical lifestyle. He/she is expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing his/her day-to-day teaching duties. The teacher will plan and teach the school assigned curriculum using best teacher practices and Christian values. The teacher will be responsible to create a positive Christian culture in and outside the classroom setting that strives to glorify Jesus Christ. The classroom teacher will attend professional development trainings, must communicate well with parents, manage and communicate effectively student progress in a timely manner which is thoroughly Christian and academically exceptional.

Essential Functions of the Position:

● Prepares a positive and effective class environment that supports learning.
● Plans and executes appropriate lessons.

1. Fosters Bible literacy and spiritual formation in students.
2. Bases all teaching, activities, and programs on the principles taught through the inspired word of God as contained in the Bible. Connects Biblical principles to subject matter concepts.
3. Translates BHCS student outcomes into specific objectives for lessons suitable to the age level and developmental needs of the students.
4. Effectively plans learning experiences that help each student achieve curriculum objectives:
—a. Uses grade level standards and/or school course descriptions in setting long-range objectives and in writing lesson plans.
—b. Adjusts lesson plans to students’ needs.
—c. Corrects and returns assignments in a timely manner.
—d. Maintains on-going records of student progress which are used in instructional planning.
—e. Uses testing and program evaluation data from previous year to improve the instructional program.
—f. Organizes content into a sequential development of skills.
5. Uses effective teaching methods and techniques:

Staffing:
• Place ads and schedule initial interviews with prospective applicants.
• Schedule second and/or final interview for prospect to meet Director and Board Member(s) if needed orapplicable.

• Complete paperwork for new hires
• Ensure new hires are trained properly and follow-up for any questions
• Schedule weekly staff

Support Staff:

• Child and/or parent issues
• Behavioral issues

• Track staff birthdays and special occasions so that we can acknowledge
• Schedule monthly meetings
• Track certification and continuing education for all child development center employees
• Scheduling coordinator for weekly child development center schedule. Review with
Director to ensure accuracy and proper coverage
• Serve as contact for all call in, requested days off, vacations, etc. for all child development center employees, while ensuring the child development center is constantly within ratio guidelines.
• Enforce employee handbook.
Print daily break list
• Print weekly sign-in sheets
• Print and copy weekly menus

Registrar Duties:
• Answer telephone and take appointments for tours as class availability allows
• Maintain waiting list for each class as needed
• Schedule tour appointments
• Serve as initial tour guide for families and explain the BHCDC format to them
• Schedule final introduction to meet Director as needed

Additional:
• Work with Director and BHCS Administration in formulating K4 curriculum per ACSI and
BHCS guidelines while ensuring we are within State of Kentucky Child Care Guidelines
• Meet with Director weekly to discuss Child Development Center issues and to ensure
proper communication is occurring between the two management positions.
• Serve in other capacities as needed as the position evolves and the center grows.
• This position will NOT serve as a teacher in a room unless in an emergency situation.
