As shared in today’s Courier-Journal, Beth Haven’s Jody Bailey has accepted a new position as an Assistant JodyInCJBasketball Coach at the University of New Orleans.  UNO is a Division 1 school participating in the Southland Conference.

As Jody would often say, “For those of you keeping at score at home (and we know you are :-))”… Jody attended Beth Haven along with his sister Melonie, and is the son of Sarah and Coach Joe Bailey who have both served BHCS since 1973 in many roles, including Joe as Boys Basketball Coach, Athletic Director and Teacher, while continuing to serve as Director of Development and Alumni Affairs. The Bailey Fieldhouse, along with the “Joe and Sarah Bailey Court” are named in their honor.

From UNO’s official release:

Jody Bailey brings an incredible wealth of experience, knowledge, passion, and energy to our program,” said Slessinger. “He has coached at every level, from high school to NBA scout, and has had success at all levels. Jody will add a great network to our recruiting base as we move forwards towards a championship.

“Our program is extremely excited to welcome Jody, his wife Joy and two sons J. Lawrence and Jaxon to our beautiful city, university and program. I have been able to watch Jody have incredible success as a head coach at Jacksonville College and prior to that at Colorado and Air Force. He will be tremendous for our student-athletes on and off the floor.
