Founded in 1971 and accredited through both the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and the Kentucky Board of Education, Beth Haven Christian School has a heritage of preparing students for a lifetime of success.
Students of Beth Haven Christian School benefit from solid academic training within a “home away from home” environment. Moreover, to BHCS faculty, teaching is more than a job; with an average of more than ten years of teaching experience, faculty members assist students in discovering their potential and finding clarity of purpose as they seek to accomplish the Lord’s will in their lives.
Beth Haven Christian School is committed to instilling Christian character in each student; as a result of this commitment, thousands of lives have been impacted for over four decades. We serve Kindergarten through high school students with a tradition of providing exemplary private school education with a distinctively Christian worldview. Over ninety-five percent of Beth Haven Christian’s high school graduates are college-bound.
Technology in Education
Computer applications skills are taught and reinforced from Kindergarten through high school. We utilize Chromebooks in every classroom and some classrooms use interactive smart boards. Students use the computer lab and Chromebooks to learn anything from the basics of typing and computer usage, to computer programming. Moreover, all students and teachers are using the Google Classroom platform to help facilitate higher technological aptitude and diversify classroom education.
Elementary Academics
The elementary divisions utilize a combination of BJU and ACSI curricula, which are biblically based and consistently produce scores above national averages on standardized testing.
Elementary students learn to read at age five through the BJU curriculum, and begin laying the foundation for a strong future academic program. These students begin developing age-appropriate computer skills for readiness in the computer age; they also receive instruction in foreign language, art, and physical education.
To bolster a solid and challenging academic program, elementary students receive weekly reinforcement of classroom material. Additionally, students are afforded opportunities for development and enrichment in the areas of library science, music, and character training to foster the development of a well-rounded child.
Middle School Academics
All students in grades six through eight engage in a rigorous academic program with honors-level instruction in English, math, Bible, science, and history.
Other types of courses include art, Spanish, and computer applications.
High School Academics
Students in grades nine through twelve receive an honors-level, college-preparatory education which fulfills the requirements established by Kentucky law to qualify for a pre-college high school diploma. The curriculum includes other forms of education in drama, computer programming, life skills, and yearbook development.
Our fully accredited high school program allows students to earn college scholarship funds based on yearly grade-point averages for each year of high school, through the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) program. A diploma earned through Beth Haven Christian School is accepted by all colleges and universities nationwide. In addition to the challenging track of core classes, Senior students have the opportunity to earn college credit by enrolling in the dual enrollment program with Jefferson Community Technical College. Qualifying Senior students may also choose to participate in the School-to-Work program offered through UPS. Other School-to-Work programs are offered on a case-by-case basis. A variety of available electives are designed to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
