High School Basketball Starts Tonight!

The 2014-15 basketball season for our high school teams and cheerleaders will tip off tonight at home in our Bailey Fieldhouse, beginning with our girls facing Moore High School, followed by our Boys and their matchup with Walden.

A current and complete schedule for ALL basketball teams and events can be accessed, saved and printed by clicking this link.

Tonight’s games are both big early season tests for our Bearcats and we hope you are able to attend and support the teams and cheerleaders as they have all worked hard towards this day and season.

Our middle school boys have already played in 4 games so far, including a thrilling come-from-behind victory at West Point last night!

If you are part of the league, you will be receiving your own specific email about the upcoming season, but can refer to this schedule for basic dates and times.

Again, we hope you are able to come out soon and support all of the teams above and cheer along with our 3 cheerleading squads and we all… do all to the Glory of God.

Bearcat Cheer!Speaking of cheering

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) that Beth Haven is a member of, will be requiring a “Sportsmanship Letter” to be read before each high school event this basketball season. We of course, have always enjoyed a spirit-filled competitive atmosphere where we focus on cheering for our team and players while respecting the other team, as well as the officials.

Below is the letter that will be read on behalf of the KHSAA, a letter that will be part of our own pre-game ceremonies, including our National Anthem and a Word of Prayer.

whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

The National High School Federation and The Kentucky High School Athletic Association require officials to enforce sportsmanship rules.

High school athletics emphasize positive values.

All of us have worked hard to create a sense of teamwork, respect, responsibility and perspective.

We remind you that we expect good behavior and will quickly penalize misconduct.

We encourage and appreciate your help.

Let this competition reflect mutual respect among all participants and officials. Good luck and have a great contest!
