A special post as a rewarding Bearcat basketball season comes to an end…

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ~ Romans 8:37 (KJV)

Our Boys (65-80) and Girls (25-64) competed to the end before falling to Valley in District Tournament play last night.

The games brought an end to what was a rewarding season of Bearcat Basketball.BHCS_BearCats

Just as we are with all of our student activities, we have been blessed by the faithful preparedness and efforts from this season’s basketball teams- the players, the staffs and the volunteers that support in many ways.

KCACtrophyWe appreciate everyone that participated in our Saturday Elementary League. It’s a blessing to watch our children grow in all areas of life and it is our hope that when you look back on these simple Saturday games, they will bring joy to your hearts in some way. It was a joy to ours to watch.

The season was highlighted by both the Middle School Boys and Varsity Boys winning their KCAC championship, while our Girls Varsity team finished as runner-up after advancing to the championship game.

The Girls improved on the previous season’s 6-20 record going 11-15, while also capturing their first-ever Holiday Classic championship.

In addition to winning the KCAC championship, the Varsity Boys season featured a late-season victory over Shawnee. The team worked hard and improved throughout the season to finish with an 11-14 record.

BB_SeniorNightWe want to especially recognize the following seniors for their contributions:
Dakota McKinney- Basketball
Michaela Morgan- Basketball
Christopher Miller- Basketball
Hayley Rader- Basketball
Taylor Stewart -Cheerleading

The commitment and dedication from these seniors is appreciated by us all and we prayerfully hope for continued blessings for their life-days ahead.

It was a season that brought challenges from injuries and from a winter weather season like never before. It was a joy to watch the teams learn and grow not only basketball-wise, but in life.

Again, we are grateful for the teams and everyone that supported through their own role in this season!
